South West Lands Phase 1 is an integral part of the major urban regeneration of Wembley Park in North West London. This is currently the largest Private Rented Sector (PRS)/Build to Rent project in the UK, offering over 7,000 homes. The 85-acre masterplan, spearheaded by Quintain, includes vital infrastructure and mixed-use developments to foster a sustainable community where residents can live, work, and enjoy leisure activities.
Quintain is overseeing the development of Wembley Park, which is the UK's largest build-to-rent project, with 5,000 homes anticipated to be completed by 2024.
The 'Ferrum' is an 18-storey building, constructed above a basement car park/podium slab. It features traditional brickwork on metsec framing and is adorned with standing seam metal cladding. A 3-storey link building housing a guest lounge and gym can be found on Level 01.
The building showcases ordered facades of stacked balconies and uniformly sized windows, which give it a distinctive warehouse aesthetic. Inside, this theme continues with exposed services and concrete soffits within the apartments.
The ground floor is highlighted by double-height retail units that enhance the vibrancy of Station Square and enrich the pedestrian experience between the station and Wembley Stadium.
To expedite the construction period, off-site fabrication was extensively utilized, including bathroom pods, windows, and balconies. White Ink Architects collaborated with McAleer & Rushe D&B Contractors to develop the RIBA Stage 2 design by JTP and bring this significant residential scheme to life.
