At Park Modern, the breathtaking views are so impressive that Fenton Whelan’s sales director, Lars Christiaanse, often begins presentations to potential buyers with a photograph of the scenery.
Park Modern introduces a premier collection of 57 luxury apartments overlooking Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Situated on Bayswater Road near the entrance of Queensway, this property offers southern views of the park, allowing residents to enjoy both sunrise and sunset. Prices start at £2 million for a one-bedroom apartment and reach up to £60 million for the spectacular nine-bedroom penthouse.
Designed by the renowned architecture firm PLP, the building features a distinctive undulating façade. Lee Polisano, founder of PLP, explains the vision, “From the outset, we aimed to create something beyond a simple rectangular form. This building needed a unique and memorable expression, reflecting its special role in the setting.” The design draws inspiration from the nearby parkland, with its curves echoing the organic shapes found in nature.
Given the increased importance of outdoor spaces post-pandemic, each unit, from studios to penthouses, includes access to outdoor areas like balconies or terraces. Penthouse residents can enjoy a wraparound terrace with panoramic city views, extending from Canary Wharf to the Royal Albert Hall.
Interiors are crafted to enhance these views, featuring large windows, high ceilings, and a light color scheme that highlights the natural surroundings. Developers have meticulously chosen natural stones and designed the joinery, doors, and ironmongery to ensure a luxurious touch, as stated by James Van den Heule, co-founder of Fenton Whelan.
The design elements extend to the reception area and the wellbeing floor, which includes a residents-only spa with treatment rooms, a 25-meter swimming pool, a gym, and a 16-seat cinema available for private bookings.
